Anita Gregory - Vice President of Creative Development for Television
|
A piano prodigy, Anita Gregory was in show business by the age of 14, being a much in demand rehearsal accompanist on Broadway.
After graduating from Manhattanville College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and Drama, Anita went on to tour the country with a nightclub act that logged over 3,000 performances in clubs and hotels all over the U.S. Anita was consequently discovered by Warner Bros. Records and signed a lucrative recording contract. Her dance hit “The Man I Love” was the number one record in Europe for 3 consecutive months.
As she continued to expand upon her musical talents she began writing songs for many feature films and television shows, including several title songs that she sang on the sound tracks as well.
Having grown up in a show business family, as the daughter of legendary actor Charles Durning (Tony and Golden Globe winner, two-time Academy Award nominee and 9 Emmy nominations), she made the natural transition into screen writing and producing.
Anita founded the renowned "Second Avenue Theater Company" and starred in and produced several hit Los Angeles productions, including the L.A. revival of John Patrick Shanley's ("Moonstruck") "Savage in Limbo" which earned Anita several Critics Choice nods as producer and actress and rave reviews in the L.A. Times, Variety and Hollywood Reporter.
