Ms. Kates oversees a variety of tasks at Big Screen Entertainment Group including some of the following items:

Negotiations, drafting of agreements for production and distribution of motion picture and television productions from beginning to end, knowledge of all aspects of the film industry including servicing, delivery, distribution, production, deals for actors, directors, writers, producers, investor deals, merchandising deals, domestic distribution deals, acquisition of films and distribution rights deals, financing documents, casting, script development, managing talent, hiring all talent on a motion picture from casting directors to DP’s to music supervisors, hands on set producing, foreign sales relationships, shareholder relations, editing, post production supervising, marketing and website design, knowledge of film markets, forming numerous alliances with other film companies, to mention a few of the many tasks she oversees.

During Ms. Kates tenure, BSEG has grown into a film making enterprise with six self-produced productions:

The outrageous Romantic comedy Dirty Love, starring Jenny McCarthy, Carmen Electra, Eddie Kaye Thomas and Kathy Griffin which premiered at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival and went on to be released domestically by First Look Media;

Forget About It, starring Burt Reynolds, Raquel Welch, Charles Durning and Robert Loggia released theatrically by BSEG and on DVD by Allumination Filmworks;

The Mirror aka Nina and the Mystery of the Secret Room which premiered at the prestigious Hollywood International Film Festival and has begun to be distributed internationally;

The critically acclaimed horror/thriller, Babysitter Wanted (2009 release) which has been touted as one of the best horror films of the past ten years and currently in release by horror mega giant LionsGate in the UK;

The web sensation documentary, Lightfield's Home Videos, featuring some of Hollywood's most legendary entertainers;

And the recently completed documentary, William Shatner's Gonzo Ballet, an incredible artistic journey featuring entertainment icon, William Shatner of Boston Legal and Star Trek fame.

Ms. Kates has recently acquired over 25 films for the Big Screen Distribution pipeline and continues negotiations on a substantial library for BSEG. In addition, Ms. Kates has optioned several new scripts for future production, signed the directing team, The Deka Brothers with Willliam Morris Endeavor, and is in pre production on four new films with Big Screen Entertainment Group as the production company to be filmed over the next 24 months.

Ms. Kates has engineered strategic corporate entertainment partnerships with Warner Music Group, Warner Electra, Lionsgate, Paramount Studios, First Look Media, Showtime Networks, Blockbuster Video, Wal-Mart to name a few as well as buyers from numerous foreign territories from England, France, Germany, Russia, Japan and Australia.

Under Ms. Kates guidance, BSEG formed its own international film and television sales division, acquiring numerous completed titles which premiered at 2008 CANNES FILM MARKET, selling 30 film titles to international buyers. Ms. Kates is also making inroads into domestic distribution, negotiating national accounts at some of the country's top domestic retail outlets. Ms. Kates is the architect of several fresh digital media initiatives incorporating BSEG's films, television and gaming products into several diverse new media platforms.

Ms. Kates presides over all aspects of BSEG's operations from production to distribution to interaction with the broad investment community. Prior to joining BSEG, Kates was head of development for SMASH PRODUCTIONS and served as an independent film producer. Kates had an extensive career in front of the camera as well, working with such acclaimed performers as Ben Affleck, Gwyneth Paltrow, Dolly Parton, Jake Gylenhaal, Jared Leto, Samuel Jackson, Judy Davis, Melanie Griffith, Peter Weller, Huey Lewis, Tom Berenger, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Keanu Reeves, George Carlin and Seth Green. Ms. Kates' director/producer relationships include the likes of Martin Scorcese, Oliver Stone, Randal Kleiser, Michael Tolkin, Brad Silberling, Scott Rosenberg, Kevin Bright and Stephen Bochco.
