Big Screen Entertainment Groups Babysitter Wanted debuts in Canada at Montreals Fantasia Fest
Tuesday, 15 July 2008 06:18
Big Screen Entertainment Group’s (OTC:BSEG) latest film heads north with director Michael Manasseri attending the festival and hosting the Canadian premiere of "BABYSITTER WANTED." A suspenseful horror film, with surprising twists, "BABYSITTER WANTED" has been well received all over the world from Sitges to the Hollywood Film Festival to recently winning Germany’s Weekend of Fear for best film.
The film will screen during the coveted midnight time period on Thursday, July 17th, 2008 at Montreal’s Fantasia Fest in the Hall Theater.
“BABYSITTER WANTED” stars Matt Dallas (Kyle XY), Sarah Thompson (Cruel Intentions), horror icon, Bill Moseley (House of 1000 Corpses), Bruce Thomas (Kyle XY), Kristen Dalton (The Departed), Nana Visitor (Deep Space Nine) and Monty Bane (Sleepwalkers) in a film about a college student who replies to an ad for a babysitting position on a remote farm.
The co-directors of the film, Jonas Barnes and Michael Manasseri deviously drag things in an unexpected direction with lots of twists and turns and an abundant amount of slice 'n' dice. The film shifts drastically, breathing a gust of originality into a subgenre too often criticized for its redundancy.
Director of "BABYSITTER WANTED" Michael Manasseri and Senior VP of Big Screen Entertainment Group will be on hand at Montreal's Fantasia Fest to host the screening. “BABYSITTER WANTED” was Manasseri’s first foray behind the camera. He is currently producing a number of projects with Montreal’s native son, the Captain of the Enterprise and legal eagle, William Shatner, including the completed “WILLIAM SHATNER’S GONZO BALLET,” as well as a new film project for Big Screen Entertainment, “STANDING DOWN” starring “Hellboy” Ron Perlman.
ABOUT MICHAEL MANASSERI – DIRECTOR OF “BABYSITTER WANTED” AND BSEG’S SENIOR VP:
Michael Manasseri began his entertainment career as a child actor, appearing opposite Yul Brynner on stage in “THE KING AND I” and in the revival of “OLIVER” on Broadway. Throughout the nineties, Manasseri starred in a number of television shows, including the lead role in the TV series “WEIRD SCIENCE” on the USA Network which aired in over 40 countries and has recently been released on DVD (Seasons 1&2).
Following the highly successful run of Weird Science, Manasseri decided to turn his attention on production as a writer, producer and director. After writing numerous screenplays, Manasseri joined Big Screen Entertainment Group with his long time collaborator, Kimberley Kates. Together, they developed “BABYSITTER WANTED” with writer/co-director Jonas Barnes. The film was produced by Kates as well as BSEG’s Stephen Eckelberry and David Zappone.
