Big Screen Entertainment Group's Newest Acquisition Hits Bullseye at Two Festivals
Friday, 25 July 2008 06:18
Big Screen Entertainment Group (OTC:BSEG) congratulates writer-director Richmond Riedel for his triple festival nomination for his film "Target Practice." Big Screen Entertainment Group is proudly distributing the film worldwide.
"Target Practice" has been nominated for three separate "Action on Film" awards: Action Film of the Year, Best Action Sequence Feature and Best Special Effects. The action thriller has the distinction of opening in no less than two festivals on Friday, July 25th, The Action on Film International Film Festival, and the Dances with Films festival.

In addition to the festival heat, the film is building international press interest, due to its timely subject matter: terrorist training camps in North America.
As Judy McLeod announces in the Canada Free Press, "'Target Practice' the movie is an idea whose time has come!" Says Riedel, "I wanted to make an intense, entertaining thriller, and I've always been a big fan of films like 'Deliverance.' I wanted to do a film in a similar vein, that sort of man-versus-man-in-the-woods genre. There's been a cascade of news about evidence of terrorist camps being found in isolated areas in the U.S. and Canada, and this topic of concern lent itself well to the genre."

Demand for this title has spiked in recent weeks, with distributors from around the world vying for a chance to license the film in their country. "We think that 'Target Practice' will do well for Big Screen and for Rich," stated BSEG's President of Production Stephen Eckelberry.
Eckelberry first collaborated with Riedel when he directed the film "Charades," which Riedel wrote, starring C. Thomas Howell and Erica Eleniak. "Rich really knows how to keep an audience on the edge of their seat, and that's what buyers are looking for."
A domestic deal is in the works, being handled by BSEG's CEO Kimberley Kates and President Dave Zappone.
